Resolution of the Council of Ministers of the Republic of Belarus of December 7, 2016 No. 1002 "On Certain Issues Regarding the Distribution and Number of Plant Species" approved a list of plant species whose distribution and number are subject to regulation, and a provision on the conduct of appropriate measures. The Resolution comes into force on December 31, 2016.

Today, January 12, the Prime Minister of the Republic of Belarus, Andrei Kobyakov, heard a report by the Minister of Forestry, Mikhail Amelianovich, on the progress in the development of brown-field plantations.

The hurricane, which passed through Belarus on July 12-13, 2016, caused the largest destruction in the history of the republic's forestry: 4.6 million cubic meters of timber were damaged on an area of 40.4 thousand hectares.

Since January 1, 2017, the new Forest Code of the Republic of Belarus comes into force. Exactly one year ago, on December 30, 2015, the document was published on the National Legal Internet Portal of the Republic of Belarus. All this time the specialists carried out a large-scale work on the development of a number of subordinate regulatory legal acts on forestry, designed to develop the basic provisions of the Code. Now we have to work on new rules.
